New FSCE Syllabus — Maths & English
Preparation for the new Trafford 11+ format. From 2027, Trafford Consortium grammar schools are moving to the Future Stories Community Enterprise (FSCE) exam for entry in September 2028 — starting in Year 3, 4 or 5 now means your child builds a genuine head start.

What Children Will Study
The FSCE KS2 syllabus covers English Language (including Creative Writing) and Maths:
- English: reading comprehension across fiction, non-fiction and poetry; vocabulary and grammar; creative writing across genres — stories, descriptions and persuasive pieces
- Maths: the full KS2 curriculum — number, calculation, fractions/decimals/percentages, and multi-step problem solving
- Exam technique: working under timed conditions, using multiple-choice answer grids, and planning and writing clearly within a time limit
How Progress Is Assessed
Children complete regular practice papers and mock assessments in FSCE style, with feedback shared with parents so you can see how your child is developing session by session.
